Managing International Risks for Swiss Businesses: Practical Insights from SNSF-Funded Research on Transnational Corruption

Institute of Communication and Public Policy

Date: 19 June 2026 / 13:00 - 18:00

Auditorium, Università della Svizzera italiana (Lugano)

The event is organised within the framework of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)-funded research project “Assessing the Nature and Impact of Transnational Corruption through the Lens of Swiss Businesses”, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Canton Ticino (Cc-Ti).

The event aims to share the main findings of a survey conducted among more than 500 Swiss firms operating abroad with representatives of Swiss businesses, while fostering collective reflection on the practical implications of risks related to transnational corruption. The research provides important empirical evidence on the regulatory, operational, and institutional challenges Swiss businesses face in international markets, as well as the strategies they adopt to prevent and mitigate corruption risks.

Bringing together representatives from academia, public institutions, business associations, and the private sector, the event will provide a platform for discussion of geopolitical risks, institutional environments, preventive practices, and the role of business networks in supporting international businesses. The programme includes keynote discussions, presentation of the survey findings, roundtable discussions, and interactive sessions aimed at encouraging exchange among participants and identifying practical recommendations for businesses and institutions.
